In detail
Decks and outdoor living
Structural decks, platforms and courtyards. Bearer and joist spacings set to the boards being used, falls carried away from the house, and the fixing layout planned before the first board is cut.
Pergolas and outdoor structures
Steel and timber pergolas, roofed outdoor areas, privacy screens and shade structures. Footings, spans, roof pitch and flashings are worked out before the frame goes up.
Timber and metal cladding
Vertical timber, composite panel and standing-seam metal cladding. Joint and course layouts are set out on the wall before material is ordered, because that is where the finish is won or lost.
Landscape construction
Concrete works, retaining, steps, steel garden edging, compacted gravel paths and raised planters — built as part of the same job rather than handed to another trade.
